YHS on Monster Island - Godzilla, Kaiju, & Tokusatsu!

In a world as vast as the kaiju genre, there needs to be a podcast that can tackle all things giant monster - from film to fandom, television to toys, Godzilla to Gamera. That podcast is YHS on Monster Island! From the world of Yes Have Some comes a new show dedicated to the spectacle and madness of the kaiju genre; one as fun as a trip to World Children's Land and as informative as a Dr. Yamane lecture. Piloting this ship will be "The Tattooed Titan of Tokusatsu" and YHS co-founder, Jacob Walsh, and the "Mayor of Toku Toy Town" and acclaimed sci-fi author, Jay Key.

    A great listen when I can’t watch.
I mostly watch the show on YouTube but love having iTunes as an option. Recently growing tired of listening to other podcasts, so I’ve restarted Monster Island at episode 1 in audio form. Definitely digging rediscovering the older episodes. Jake and Jay feel like two old friends you haven’t seen in a while telling you about their new toy pick ups, movies or shows they have watched. They’ve helped reawaken and strengthen my interest in Kaiju films and toys. Thanks fellas. Keep doing em, I’ll keep listening.

The sacred beast of the apocalypse
Being a fan of everything Godzilla, this show slaps! Also, Gamera is a very underrated Kaiju. Keep up the fine work!

    Wonderful kaiju podcast
I’ve held off writing a review until I’d heard a bunch of episodes but now I’m confident to say this is my favorite Kaiju-centric podcast. It hits the sweet spot of balancing movie and entertainment with collecting, which speaks to how I express my fandom. Well done gentlemen!

Wow. A Kaiju Show that Actually Likes Kaiju Stuff
I discovered this show recently and have been a huge fan. I love the energy. I hate how all of the other kaiju shows just talk about movies. Blah Blah Blah. Over it. This one talks movies, toy collecting (I guess that's their parent show?), and weird what if type conversations.

Super fun and deeper Kaiju than thought
This is a fun podcast that explores Kaiju more than expected. I didn’t really the deep history of monster movies. Great listen!

One of the best kaiju shows out there.
As a long time listener of YHS I was thrilled when they announced Jake would be hosting a spin off show with Jay Key about Godzilla and friends. Every episode is packed with interesting facts about the topic at hand. And Jay’s intros for Jake just keep getting better. Both these guys really have a deep love and appreciation for this stuff. I never miss a show. Keep doing the lord’s ( of the monsters that is) work.

I would Matango with this guys anytime.
This podcast is fantastic and the hosts are great too. If I had any cash left after spending it at TokuToyTown.com, I’d have a beer with Jay and Jake while we nerd out over the latest holy grail acquisition. Any and every fan of kaiju monster movies should listen to this podcast. Having two likable hosts is just a bonus. Michael Kaiju Ramen

    Love this show
These guys are some of the best people; knowledgeable, funny, intelligent, and I love this show. Jake+Jay 4ever. Seriously though, it’s like a Kaiju class in Colossal kickassery.
